Alabama should be extremely grateful for Ole Miss and Laremy Tunsil.  Tunsil’s live meltdown stole every headline on the draft’s opening night and deflected the spotlight away from the Crimson Tide’s own issues in regards to the current situation with assistant defensive line coach Bo Davis.

Continuing to deep the truth buried for the time being, Alabama head coach Nick Saban released a brief statement Friday, which gave no details on the reasons behind Davis’ recent resignation.

While the original report, via TideSports.com, indicated a recruiting violation was to blame, the latest information from AL.com appears to backup that information.

A person familiar with the situation told AL.com it did concern a potential recruiting violation, which may not have been serious in nature, but Davis was not cooperative with the school when questioned about it. It appears that lack of cooperation led to his departure.

Where this story goes from here remains to be seen, however the violation must have been fairly significant if it resulted in one of the game’s best recruiters and defensive line coaches leaving Tuscaloosa.
