Over the weekend, Alabama coach Nick Saban said he was “hopeful” that redshirt sophomore cornerback Marlon Humphrey would be ready to play in the Crimson Tide’s upcoming contest against Florida in the SEC Championship Game.

Humphrey, who appeared to injure his hamstring in Alabama’s recent 30-12 win over Auburn, was seen with both of his legs heavily wrapped as he sat out of drills and watched his teammates go through the motions during Monday’s practice.

Tuesday was a bit different. This time, per Alex Byington, he was an active participant:

But he still had a leash when it came to what all he was allowed to do:

According to CFBReference.com, Humphrey has collected 33 tackles (3.0 for loss), two interceptions, a touchdown and four pass deflections in 12 games this season. He’s an important piece to a secondary that ranks tied for fourth nationally in yards per attempt (5.7) and touchdowns allowed (9).

Alabama will look to continue its dominant 24-game winning streak on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET against the Gators in the Georgia Dome.
