Jarrett Stidham might be the prize gem of this year’s transfer class in the SEC.

With several teams needing help at the quarterback position, Stidham, a former 4-star prospect, would provide an immediate upgrade. In mostly clean-up duty, Stidham threw for 1,265 yards with 12 touchdowns and 2 interceptions during his freshman season at Baylor.

A few SEC teams have been linked to Stidham, including Auburn, Florida and Texas A&M. The Aggies’ interest may be waning, but Auburn’s only appears to be increasing.

Stidham’s dual-threat abilities should fit right in at Auburn, where Gus Malzahn and Rhett Lashlee have one of the most unique rushing attacks in college football. The transfer quarterback would be available to play in 2017 because he signed up for online classes at a community college instead of transferring immediately to another program in July.

Per ESPN, Stidham is the No. 1 player on their list of the top 50 junior college players. Stidham reportedly plans on making a decision sooner rather than later, so this is a situation worth monitoring in the coming weeks.
