Current Texas head coach and former Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong became the most recent coach to be asked about the Florida opening.

His answer may not satisfy many Longhorn fans.

Although the response may not have directly answered the question, the circumstances surrounding Strong make him an unlikely candidate, considering he’s just in his first year at Texas.

And with the Gators looking for a more offensive-minded coach, Strong’s defensive background doesn’t fit. His past success and history at Florida, however, will likely keep his name in the conversation.
