Florida has claimed the SEC East title in each of Jim McElwain’s first two seasons with the program, but the Gators haven’t been so lucky in the SEC championship game.

Atlanta hasn’t been kind to the Gators, who have lost soundly to Alabama in their past two trips to the Georgia Dome. During a Florida basketball game on Saturday, McElwain took to the court and proclaimed to fans and recruits in attendance that 2017 would be different.

In speaking with the crowd, McElwain reminded them that it was because of their energy that the Gators were able to run the table at home and make a second straight appearance in Atlanta.

But McElwain didn’t stop there, however. He then promised the crowd that because of the talent on the roster, that they would “kick the door down” when they get back to Atlanta for a third year in a row.
