The Georgia Bulldogs looked like a team that is capable of winning its third national championship in the last four years after demolishing Clemson, 34-3, in Week 1.

It was a low-scoring game early, but then team exploded in the second half to pull away for the big win. While the offense was good, the defense absolutely dominated Clemson the entire day.

Leading the way for the Georgia defense was Jalon Walker, who finished the game with 6 tackles, 3 solo tackles and 1.5 sacks in the win.

After the game, he received national recognition in the form of being named Reese’s Senior Bowl Defensive Player of the Week.

Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy gave Walker a shoutout on social media and shared 1 of his highlights from the win over Clemson:

Walker is just one of the many star players on a Georgia defense that gave up only 3 points and 189 yards of offense in the win against Clemson. This is a unit that has the potential to be the best defense in the country, and the play of Walker could be something that helps propel them to that level.

Georgia looks to build off the big season-opening win against Clemson as the Bulldogs will host Tennessee Tech next Saturday in Athens.
