Georgia head coach turned some heads when he compared his quarterback to Florida legend Tim Tebow earlier this year.

“He’s strong, and he’s strong in his faith,” Smart said an interview with the SEC Network. “I relate it a lot of times, and people are going to cringe when I say this, but how Tim was, Tebow. When you think about how strong he was in his belief of who he is. He has a not ordinary confidence in himself and also what he believes. He has an ability to lead in that locker room without alienating people or without rubbing people the wrong way, and I think that speaks volumes about the team we can become because when he speaks, they listen. When things don’t go well, he absorbs that responsibility himself, just like I do.”

Tebow had a massive impact on and off the field (and is still having one). Tebow’s impact on the field is measured with a Heisman Trophy and two national championships. His impact off the field can’t truly be measured, but nonetheless, it’s massive. And it’s felt from the United States to the Philippines.

Fromm joined Marty Smith and Ryan McGee, and they asked Fromm about his coach comparing him to Tebow.

“Just truly thankful,” Fromm said. “I mean because Tim (Tebow) is definitely up there in the books. I’m just trying to have that impact on the field with my teammates, off-the-field in the community and in the relationships with my teammates or whoever I have an encounter with.”

Fromm will try and capture some Tebow magic in 2019 and lead his team to an SEC Championship and College Football Playoff berth.
