Monty Rice, a three-star linebacker who committed to LSU on Dec. 12, has flipped to Georgia, according to multiple reports, including 247Sports and Scout.com.

Rice (6-foot-1, 230 pounds) is the No. 21 inside linebacker for the recruiting class of 2017, per 247Sports.

“When I committed to LSU, I was still considering Georgia, and now I have decided that is the school for me,” Rice told Scout.com. “I just feel Georgia is a safe selection for me.

“I like coach Kirby Smart and I like coach [Glenn] Schumann (inside linebackers) and coach [Mel] Tucker (defensive coordinator) a lot,” he continued. “They have coaches some good players and they know how to develop players.”

Georgia, which has had an excellent last two days on the trail, now has 22 commits for its 2017 class. The Bulldogs rank No. 3 in the country, trailing just Alabama and Ohio State.
