Richt: ‘I don’t know how good we are, quite frankly’

Georgia head coach Mark Richt held his first Sunday evening teleconference coming off the Bulldogs’ much-discussed win over Clemson Saturday night.

Even though reporters from several national media outlets were on the call, Richt didn’t seem as convinced by his team’s win as the public.

“I don’t know how good we are, quite frankly,” Richt said.  “We had a good performance.  We had one good game.  And even in that game, there were things that just need to be corrected.  I’m not going to get too excited yet.  We have a long way to go.”

Even with Georgia’s documented youth and inexperience, you have to feel good if you’re Richt about his team’s play Saturday night with as many freshmen as they had on the field.

  • I don’t know if it was the adjusments made at half for the Defense? Or, UGA’s pass rush got a whole lot better? But, the wide open receivers downfield in the first half concerned me some. Linebackers covering people downfield etc. UGA may have made adjustments? Many people are sayng CMR locked Mike Bobo in the Locker Room at half. Gurley then got some carries. That’s unconfirmed?

  • Please get that ugly a$$ orange crap off the DAWGS article. Now, the DAWGS looked awesome against a good Clemson team. Offense is off the hook even without top receivers and they will be back (scary). Defense was a little shaky in first half but held their own. Best defensive performance in second half at UGA in a very long time. I think I was as excited about D as offense and that is saying a lot. And again, get that ugly a$$ orange crap off our page. Tennessee played a very good high school game.
