Georgia’s 2017 recruiting class has been completed, but not in the way the Bulldogs were hoping for.

A day after learning 4-star DE Robert Beal was cleared to enroll, fellow 4-star DL Devonte Wyatt didn’t receive the same good news.

Instead, according to 247Sports, the talented lineman will head to Hutchinson Community College in Kansas, where he’ll play for one or two seasons before heading to Athens.

Hutchinson head coach Rion Rhoades confirmed to 247Sports that Wyatt was in Kansas and practicing with his new team:

“He is here,” said Rhoades. “He is enrolled and went through his first practice last night with us. It happened really quickly.”

However, Rhoades said this is just a temporary setback for Wyatt, who he says still remains firm in his plans to play for the Bulldogs in the future:

“I definitely know he is going to Georgia when he is done here, either after one season or two seasons,” Rhoades said.

Depending on how Wyatt’s test scores turn out, Rhoades said he’ll have to stay at Hutchinson for either one or one and a half years. It’s safe to say Georgia coach Kirby Smart and his staff will be keeping an eye on Wyatt as he takes a detour through the JUCO ranks.
