Drake Jackson, the No. 1 overall interior lineman for the 2016 recruiting class, announced his commitment to Kentucky on Saturday. The Versailles, Ky., native — who grew up within a half hour from the University of Kentucky’s campus in Lexington — choose between Kentucky, Alabama, Ohio State and Tennessee.

“It’s my home-state school,” Jackson told the Courier-Journal. “It’s the place where I feel most comfortable. The coaches did a great job recruiting me, and I’m so excited about what they’re doing there.”

Jackson ranks as the No. 111 overall player and the top prospect from the state of Kentucky, according to the 247 Sports composite.

The four-star prospect met with head coach Mark Stoops and the Kentucky staff Saturday to personally notify them of his decision.
