No. 19 LSU is one of the hottest teams in the nation since firing coach Les Miles, and the Tigers have risen back into the top 20 after handing Ole Miss a 38-21 defeat last Saturday night.

But the next month will show us how good they really are.

According to ESPN’S Football Power Index, LSU still has the hardest remaining schedule of any FBS team. The Tigers face both current SEC division leaders at home and have trips to West rivals Arkansas and No. 9 Texas A&M squeezed into a four-week gauntlet.

LSU’s next opponent will likely be its most difficult.

Following an open date Saturday, the Tigers host No. 1 Alabama, a nemesis they haven’t defeated in their last five meetings. After that comes the Razorbacks, who have beaten LSU in dominating fashion for two straight seasons.

LSU hosts No. 14 Florida in a rescheduled game the following Saturday before their Thanksgiving tilt with the Aggies, a five-day swing that will truly test the Tigers’ mettle.
