Dak Prescott and Fletcher Cox never played for Joe Moorhead but that doesn’t mean the new Mississippi State coach is any less appreciative of what those players have done for the program in year’s past.

In fact, the way Moorhead sees it, as those two continue to have stellar professional careers in the NFL, they only serve to help Mississippi State’s program and the Starkville community gain positive notoriety. Welcoming those players, and any other former MSU players that did not play for him, is a smart move by Moorhead. While there was some initial hesitancy by some when MSU hired a coach from the North, it’s clear by now he’s embraced not only Starkville but those that came before him at MSU that sacrificed and worked relentlessly to build up the program he inherited.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM program SEC This Morning, hosted by Peter Burns and Marcus Spears, Moorhead spoke about the importance that Prescott and Cox continue to have on the Mississippi State program.
