Missouri’s backfield appears to be getting an upgrade.

KOMU TV Chris Gervino tweeted Sunday morning that sources told him Oklahoma RB Alex Ross is transferring to Mizzou. As a graduate transfer, Ross would be eligible to play in the 2016 season.

Rivals.com reporter Pete Scantlebury clarified Gervino’s scoop, reporting that Ross has signed a financial aid agreement, which is non-binding. He also said that MU coaches aren’t celebrating just yet, as Ross has not yet signed a release from OU.

In three seasons with the Sooners, Ross posted career numbers of 123 carries, 786 yards and five touchdowns running the ball, along with 1,363 yards and two touchdowns on 53 kickoff returns.

Ross would be expected to compete with Ish Witter for the rank of RB1 with the Tigers.
