Sports Illustrated may have just provided Hugh Freeze and Ole Miss with some bulletin board material.

SI recently came out with a piece mentioning four programs that could get off to slow starts in 2016. The Rebels were included within the article — as were Stanford, Wisconsin, and Texas.

Ole Miss’ schedule isn’t for the faint of heart. The team opens up in a massive non-conference neutral site tilt against Florida State — followed up with games (all at home) against Wofford, Alabama, Georgia and Memphis. Then, back-to-back road games exists against Arkansas and LSU.

The Rebels return only 10 starters from a season ago, and are tasked with replacing the likes of Laremy Tunsil, Laquon Treadwell, Trae Elston, C.J. Johnson, Cody Core, and Robert Nkemdiche.

Although the backend of the schedule (Auburn, Georgia Southern, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State) is far more manageable, early losses in the early portion may knock Ole Miss out of contention for an SEC title.
