There is nearly a two-month gap between Ole Miss’ cross-division rotational games in 2016. The Rebels, who visit Vanderbilt in their next-to-last regular season game on Nov. 19, play host to Georgia on Sept. 24.

The Bulldogs have dominated the Ole Miss-Georgia series. They have won the last 10 matchups to take a 32-12-1 lead.

The last time the teams played was in 2012, when Georgia routed Ole Miss 37-10 in Athens. Aaron Murray, who threw four touchdown passes, pulled off a fake handoff on a 66-yard scoring strike to Marlon Brown to notch the first points for the Bulldogs, who overcame a 10-0 deficit.

The victory moved Georgia one win away from a spot in the SEC Championship Game, which the Bulldogs lost in memorable fashion when Chris Conley caught a deflected pass from Murray five yards short of the end zone in Alabama’s 32-28 victory. Georgia capped that 12-2 season with a victory over Nebraska in the Capital One Bowl. Ole Miss beat Pitt 38-17 in the Compass Bowl to finish 7-6.

The last time Ole Miss beat Georgia was in 1996, when the Rebels won 31-27 in Athens. The victory was the Rebels’ second straight over the Bulldogs, which is Ole Miss’ longest winning streak in the series.

Meanwhile, Georgia’s current winning streak is not even the longest in the series. The Bulldogs won 12 straight from 1977-1988.

Georgia has the largest margin of victory in the series – a 49-0 win in 1974. Ole Miss’ most convincing victory was a 31-14 win in 1993.

The Bulldogs have typically beaten Ole Miss by three field goals. The average score of a game in this series is Georgia 25, Ole Miss 16, according to mcubed.net.
