The NFL Combine is upon us, as about 320 of the country’s best outgoing college football players have congregated in Indianapolis.

On-field drills start tomorrow. Here’s a look at how many players got invitations from each conference, and which schools got the most invites.

Conference Invites Top School
SEC 68 Alabama (11)
ACC 57 Florida State (12)
Pac-12 44 Oregon, USC (7)
Big Ten 38 Michigan State (6)
Big 12 31 Oklahoma (8)

Here’s a chart breaking down the Combine invites from each power conference by position.

#Dorial Green-Beckham counted for both conferences
^A.J. Johnson initially received a Combine invite which was withdrawn due to a pending sexual assault investigation. He isn’t included here.

Not surprisingly, the SEC produced 12 of the 36 running backs invited, by far more than any other conference. (The Big Ten, which secured all three finalist spots for the Doak Walker Award, sent six backs to Indy.)

The SEC also produced the most defensive linemen (13) and linebackers (8).

The conference sent just two quarterbacks in Alabama’s Blake Sims and Auburn’s Nick Marshall, and Marshall will get a much longer look from teams as a cornerback.

The ACC produced a very high number of offensive linemen (15) and defensive backs (12) with invites, leading the country in both categories. The Pac-12 sent lots of quarterbacks (4), defensive linemen (11) and defensive backs (10).
