LOOK: ESPN apparently thinks Texas A&M is still in the Big 12

The Texas A&M Aggies moved from the Big 12 to the SEC back in 2012, but it doesn’t appear everyone at ESPN got that memo.

Otherwise, it is very difficult to explain a strange stat that appeared when former Florida State coach (and new Texas A&M coach) Jimbo Fisher appeared during College GameDay on Saturday morning.

As you can see below, the graphic below Fisher says the title-winning coach is 1-2 against Big 12 teams, which doesn’t seem to be relevant unless the person who put together the graphic thought Texas A&M was still in the Big 12:

The Aggies don’t play a Big 12 team in the Belk Bowl (that would be the ACC’s Wake Forest), and don’t have any Big 12 teams on the 2018 schedule, so while it appears to be an accurate stat, it’s a bizarre one to show.

Unless, of course, the graphics designer thought the Aggies were still in the Big 12. ESPN recently laid off a bunch of behind-the-scenes employees, so it’s not surprising a mistake like this could slip through the cracks.
