Heading into the 2018 NBA Draft, Texas A&M F/C Robert Williams was in the conversation to be a lottery pick.

However, that didn’t end up happening, as the talented and super-athletic Aggies big man ended up falling to No. 27, where the Boston Celtics scooped him up.

Williams’ game is reminiscent of another former Aggie — Los Angeles Clippers C DeAndre Jordan. As a rebounder/shot blocker/alley-oop finisher, Williams’ skill set isn’t as coveted as it once was.

Still, he landed in a great spot in Boston — a team that was one win away from reaching the NBA Finals last season even with stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward injured. Williams will work with Al Horford to give the Celtics a commanding defensive presence inside.

And, playing with Irving and other guards like Terry Rozier and Marcus Smart will ensure that there are plenty of lobs to go around.

In 30 games for the Aggies this year, Williams averaged 10.4 points, 9.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game.
