The NFL announced Monday that retired quarterback Peyton Manning, a former Tennessee star, did not use HGH or any other performance-enhancing drugs banned by the league.

Last December, Manning was among a number of professional athletes mentioned in an Al Jazeera report about sports doping. As mentioned by ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the NFL interviewed Manning and Manning’s wife, Ashley. Both Peyton and Ashley were “fully cooperative with the investigation,” as described by the league.

Medical records related to the case also were studied. In the end, no issue was discovered.
