Itโs been a rather boring and dull off-season in the SEC, and outside of constant talk about who Alabamaโs starting QB will be, not many storylines have emerged heading into SEC Media Days.
So, itโs no surprise the biggest storyline heading into the event, according to Paul Finebaum. The voice of the SEC joined WJOX 94.5 Monday morning to discuss the event.
โI think itโs the same as you guys have been talking about, really, since January 9th,โ Finebaum said. โThe biggest story in the off-season has been Tua versus Jalen. And not that anything will come out of that, but it is that opportunity that you see Nick Saban and you see a couple players and you start to frame the conversation. I was talking on our program the other day that this may have been the dullest six months offseason that I can ever remember in college football.
โOutside of that story, Georgia fans complaining about the officiating and the concentration of new coaches, I have not seen many compelling stories โฆ Iโm pretty pleased to at least get to Atlanta and start swimming in a different direction.โ
Did Finebaum just announce heโll attend SEC Media Days after some speculation that he wouldnโt? Maybe, and he jokingly played it off.
โYeah, you know, I always go to media days,โ Finebaum said. โAs a fan of college football, Iโll be there in the lobby waiting for Saban.โ
So, it appears that Finebaum will attend SEC Media Days barring an unforeseen event. There had been some speculation that he may not attend SEC Media Days since his deal with ESPN hadn’t been finalized.
