It’s been a rather boring and dull off-season in the SEC, and outside of constant talk about who Alabama’s starting QB will be, not many storylines have emerged heading into SEC Media Days.

So, it’s no surprise the biggest storyline heading into the event, according to Paul Finebaum. The voice of the SEC joined WJOX 94.5 Monday morning to discuss the event.

“I think it’s the same as you guys have been talking about, really, since January 9th,” Finebaum said. “The biggest story in the off-season has been Tua versus Jalen. And not that anything will come out of that, but it is that opportunity that you see Nick Saban and you see a couple players and you start to frame the conversation. I was talking on our program the other day that this may have been the dullest six months offseason that I can ever remember in college football.

“Outside of that story, Georgia fans complaining about the officiating and the concentration of new coaches, I have not seen many compelling stories … I’m pretty pleased to at least get to Atlanta and start swimming in a different direction.”

Did Finebaum just announce he’ll attend SEC Media Days after some speculation that he wouldn’t? Maybe, and he jokingly played it off.

“Yeah, you know, I always go to media days,” Finebaum said. “As a fan of college football, I’ll be there in the lobby waiting for Saban.”

So, it appears that Finebaum will attend SEC Media Days barring an unforeseen event. There had been some speculation that he may not attend SEC Media Days since his deal with ESPN hadn’t been finalized.
