It’s tough to imagine the annual SEC Media Days being held without SEC Network host Paul Finebaum in attendance.

However, as Finebaum continues to be at a standstill with ESPN over his new contract, that’s exactly what might happen in Atlanta next month.

According to Clay Travis of Outkick the Coverage, sources say Finebaum will skip Media Days if his contract isn’t finalized within a week:

Due to what multiple sources have described as incompetence bordering on malfeasance, ESPN has so bungled its negotiations with the SEC Network and ESPN commentator that Finebaum is seriously contemplating offers elsewhere and has let ESPN know that if his deal is not completed in short order he will not be present at SEC Media Days in Atlanta when they begin on July 16th.

There’s still time for ESPN to get a deal done with the popular SEC personality, but there doesn’t seem to be anything imminent.

Finebaum will likely have plenty of options if it doesn’t work out with ESPN, but it’s tough to imagine the SEC Network without him.
