Tennessee State LB Christion Abercrombie continues to fight for his life after collapsing during a game against Vanderbilt.

After emergency surgery, Abercrombie remains in critical condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center.

Naturally, a few GoFundMe pages have popped up to help with what is sure to be a hefty hospital bill, but according to a report by The Tennessean, Tennessee State had to ask for a couple to be taken down, due to concern about possible NCAA violations:

Earlier Monday, two other GoFundeMe pages were launched by individuals — Fachon Reed, the sister of TSU coach Rod Reed, and Nashville resident Jake Waddell.

Those accounts were taken down at TSU’s request because of a potential violation of NCAA rules. The NCAA also told TSU any other crowd-funding attempts may put Abercrombie’s eligibility in jeopardy.

While it seems extremely petty and heartless for the NCAA to choose to enforce this rule at a time like this, there is one silver lining.

There is an official GoFundMe account set up by the Tennessee State athletic department that fans can visit to donate. Find that page here.
