Jaheim Oatis has delivered one of the most dramatic weight losses around, as the Alabama defensive lineman on Tuesday detailed a nearly 100-pound shift in his weight, to 320 pounds.

Oatis last season was named Freshman All-SEC recognition from the league coaches after he played in 12 games with 10 starts. Oatis made 29 tackles, including 2 tackles for a loss and 1 sack.

Oatis credited Amy Bragg, the director of performance and nutrition at Alabama, for steering him in the right direction.

“Ms. Amy changed my diet,” he said. “She helped me take away bread and rice. I got a lot of baked chicken, a lot of vegetables. I feel great. I move a lot better than what I did in high school.”

Asked about the most difficult food to give up, Oatis said fried chicken, with a laugh. And while he’s around 320, Oatis said he’s looking to put on some weight this spring, to get up to 330.
