Scott Van Pelt has made a pick against the spread for arguably the biggest game of the week in the ACC.
On Saturday, Clemson will host NC State as it looks for its second consecutive win. Both teams are looking for their first power-conference wins of the season after picking up blowout defeats vs. SEC opposition earlier in the year.
Van Pelt typically sides with underdogs during his weekly Winners segment on Sports Center, but he’s going with the favorite in this case.
“Noon window, we’re going to lay a bunch of points with Clemson,” Van Pelt said. “They got smoked like the brisket at the Smoking Pig by Georgia Week 1. Then they scored 66, then they had a bye. They’re ready to roll, and I say they’re gonna over NC State.”

According to ESPN, Van Pelt is 53-47-1 all-time when he picks favorites during this segment.
NC State has defeated Clemson in 2 of the last 3 meetings between these programs, including last year in Raleigh. It was Clemson’s loss to NC State last season that caused the infamous “Tyler from Spartanburg” radio call to coach Dabo Swinney.
Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon.
