An Alabama hoops superfan, Cameron Luke “Fluff” Ratliff was a fixture at Tide basketball games. An unofficial member of the men’s basketball team, Ratliff attended every game during the 2020-21 season and all but one in a 45-game span.

Following his passing, Alabama has announced it will honor Ratliff on Tuesday, Nov. 9, on opening night.

The recognition will pay tribute to Ratliff and, per a release from the program, conclude with the presentation of a plaid jacket to the new Crimson Chaos president, a tradition that will continue to take place in Ratliff’s honor. The ceremony will take place at approximately 8:40 p.m. ET, according to the school. The Tide face Louisiana Tech at 9 p.m. ET.

Ratliff was the president of Crimson Chaos, the official student group of Alabama athletics. The plaid sportscoat was his signature look. He passed away on April 2 at the age of 23.
