Alabama basketball superfan Cameron Luke Ratliff passes away
The Alabama Crimson Tide community is mourning the passing of UA basketball superfan Cameron Luke Ratliff. Ratliff, known as Fluffopotamus88 on social media, passed Friday night.
“Devastating news,“ Coach Nate Oats tweeted. “Doesn’t seem real. Fluff has been our biggest supporter since day one. Put all he had into our program. Loved sharing this ride with him. You’ll be missed dearly my man! Wish we had one more victory cigar and hug together. Roll Tide Forever.”
Andy Kennedy, the former Ole Miss head coach and SEC Network analyst now the head coach at UAB, remembered Ratliff as one of the most passionate fans in the conference.
“Devastating news … For all my travels throughout the SEC, Never met a more passionate supporter than
@fluffopotamus88!!! Gone way too soon.” Kennedy wrote, quote-tweeting Tuscaloosa’s Cigar Mansion sharing the news.
Auburn’s Bruce Pearl remembered Ratliff as a respectful rival who added to the fun of college basketball.
Our deepest condolences to The Alabama Basketball Family. Cameron made it fun, was passionate about his team, but always respected his opponent. He will be missed but never forgotten. Roll Tide and War Eagle Forever! @SEC pic.twitter.com/Y76ffiqoYj
