Alabama hired a pair of new coordinators this offseason — OC Tommy Rees from Notre Dame (replacing Bill O’Brien) and DC Kevin Steele from Miami (replacing Pete Golding).

On Monday, Alabama AD Greg Byrne revealed that the UA compensation committee had approved contracts for both new Crimson Tide coordinators.

Per Mike Rodak of AL.com, Steele’s contract is for 3 years, running through 2025 and paying him $1.9 million per year:

Rees also received a 3-year deal, running through 2025, starting at $1.9 million in 2023 and increasing by $100,000 every year:

Alabama finished No. 4 in scoring offense in the FBS ranks in 2023, averaging 41.1 points per game. The Tide had the No. 9 FBS scoring defense, at 18.2 points per game.

We’ll see if their new coordinators can help improve those numbers. Alabama will have a new quarterback and several new contributors on both sides of the ball heading into the 2023 season.
