The Alabama football team will honor former running back Altee Tenpenny by wearing “28” helmet stickers today in its game against Tennessee.

Tenpenny was killed in a one-car accident on Tuesday evening in Mississippi.

Since his death, his ex-teammates have dedicated a number of social media posts to him. One former teammate raised $15,000 for Tenpenny’s funeral.

Tenpenny played for the Crimson Tide in 2013 and 2014. He transferred to UNLV in the spring, but was kicked off the team. He joined the Nicholls State football team, but was suspended indefinitely last weekend. He was driving home to North Little Rock, Ark. when the fatal accident happened.
