Alabama’s first 5-star commitment for the class of 2021 is officially on board.

On Friday, IMG Academy standout JC Latham announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Latham’s commitment video shows his other finalists were Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma.

Listed at 6-6, 305 pounds, Latham is rated the No. 5 offensive tackle and the No. 17 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2021 on the 247Sports Composite. In addition to the 5 finalists mentioned, Latham also had offers from Auburn, Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Latham is slated to play in the Under Armour All-America game after his senior season. Latham has added some weight since last year when he took part in a regional “The Opening” event last year and checked in at 279 pounds. At that same event, he logged a 40 time of 5.46 seconds, a 4.87-second shuttle and 26.80-inch vertical. Prior to joining IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida as a junior, Latham attended Waukesha (Wisconsin) Catholic Memorial where he also played basketball and track.
