Alabama signed a talented 2018 recruiting class, but it wasn’t the No. 1 class in the country like Crimson Tide fans have become accustomed to.

However, that doesn’t mean the Tide are done adding to their group of players, as they landed a preferred walk-on offensive lineman on Wednesday evening.

According to AL.com, Alabama native Alex Pearman, a 6-1, 260-pound center, will join the Crimson Tide this fall:

“Honestly, I wanted to compete and play at the highest level I thought I could,” he said.

Pearman signed his paperwork to join the Tide on Wednesday afternoon, per a tweet from his high school:

Whether or not Pearman ever sees the field in Tuscaloosa remains to be seen, but he’ll be someone to keep an eye on the next few years.
