The Alabama Crimson Tide rolled to an 8-0 record with a 45-7 rout of Tennessee over the weekend.

The Crimson Tide defense dominated the Volunteers in a big way all afternoon. The Vols managed just 108 total yards of offense and did not score a touchdown. The lone touchdown scored by Tennessee came courtesy of the defense on a pick-six.

Alabama’s offense certainly did enough with the ball while accounting for 604 yards of total offense and 35 first downs. The Tide continue to impress and look strong against all challengers. The big win was Alabama’s 11th straight against Tennessee, and Alabama’s coaching staff has selected seven Players of the Week for the victory. The university announced the selections on Monday.

The Offensive Players of the Week for Alabama are TE Hale Hentges and OL Ross Pierschbacher. Pierschbacher graded out at 89% and anchored a Tide line that paved the way for 272 rushing yards against the Volunteers. He did not allow a sack or QB hurry while adding a knockdown block. Hentges had two catches for 34 yards while contributing solid blocks in the run game.

The Defensive Players of the Week for Alabama are DL Raekwon Davis and DB Levi Wallace. The duo helped limit Tennessee to 108 total yards without an offensive touchdown on the day. Wallace was the star of the day with six tackles, three TFL, and two sacks. He was also named a Co-Defensive Player of the Week in the SEC for his performance. Davis contributed four tackles and a sack against the Volunteers.

The Special Teams Players of the Week for Alabama are LB Keith Holcombe, DB Hootie Jones, and DB Deionte Thompson. All three players served on the Tide’s kick coverage unit and combined for four tackles. Holcombe led the way with two on the afternoon.

Alabama heads to the bye week with a perfect 8-0 record and No. 1 ranking in the AP Poll. The Tide will face LSU at home on Nov. 4.
