Some Alabama football players have gotten used to famous athletes showing up on campus. But even they were star-struck when NBA legend Kobe Bryant visited the Crimson Tide at fall camp last week.

“Since I’ve been here, you see so many celebrities that you just be like, ‘Oh, that’s the next one.'” Alabama junior running back Josh Jacobs told the media on Monday. “But it’s surreal at the same time because he’s a legend. You’re just looking at him like ‘Man, that’s a walking legend.’ It was crazy.”

Bryant, who won five NBA championships during his 20-year career with the Los Angeles Lakers, spoke to Crimson Tide players last Thursday, sharing with them motivational messages on leadership and more.

This is just another example of a perk that Crimson Tide players get when they decide to come to Tuscaloosa to play for Nick Saban.

“I was excited to see him because that’s my first time to see someone that’s a legend, making millions of dollars, and seeing an NBA player that close up,” Alabama junior linebacker Mack Wilson told the media on Monday. “It was a great experience.”
