It takes a truly rare talent to unseat a starting quarterback with the resume of Jalen Hurts, but Tua Tagovailoa did just that. The sophomore phenom is well-aware that having Jerry Jeudy, Jaylen Waddle, Henry Ruggs III, Irv Smith Jr. and DeVonta Smith as pass-catchers plays a large part in his team’s success, his Heisman Trophy candidacy and ongoing campaign to rewrite the Alabama record books.

Meeting with the media ahead of the SEC Championship Game, Tagovailoa was asked to comment on what it’s like to have so many talented pass-catchers and playmakers in his supporting cast. He offered some sweet praise.

“I’m like a kid in a candy shop,” Tagovailoa told reporters when asked about his talented supporting cast. “It’s awesome. I can go to the right and I can get a Snickers if I wanted to. I can go to the left and get some Skittles. It’s really fun for me as a quarterback.”

Prepare accordingly to hear the “candy shop” line a few times on Saturday.
