Less than a week after entering the NCAA’s transfer portal, departing Alabama running back Jerome Ford appears to have found his new home. Ford announced his commitment to Cincinnati on Tuesday via his Twitter account.

Ford was a 4-star all-purpose back in the class of 2018. A native of the Tampa, Florida area, Ford was rated the No. 12 APB, No. 66 Sunshine State product and No. 370 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. He chose Alabama over 21 other scholarship offers.

At UA, Ford appeared in eight games total, split evenly over two seasons. In 2018, he took advantage of the four-game redshirt rule. As a true freshman, he rushed seven times for 37 yards in 2018. This past season, Ford again appeared in only four games, logging 24 carries for 114 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also had two catches for 11 yards. Ford started one game, the 2019 season-opener against Duke, in two seasons with the Crimson Tide.
