It’s a pretty quiet week for postseason awards watch lists, but University of Alabama junior safety Landon Collins was named a semifinalist for the Lott Impact Trophy on Wednesday.

Ole Miss linebacker Deterrian Shackelford was the only other defensive player from the Southeastern Conference to make the list of nine semifinalists.

Only three were defensive backs, which might be an indication of how Collins fares for the Jim Thorpe Award for best defensive back. He’s already been named a semifinalist for that honor as well.

Impact is an acronym for Integrity, Maturity, Performance, Academics, Community and Tenacity. This year’s semifinalists:

Vic Beasley, Clemson, DE
Landon Collins, Alabama, S
Ifo Ekpre-Olomu, Oregon, CB
David Helton, Duke, LB
Eric Kendricks, UCLA, LB
Hau’oli Kikaha, Washington, LB
Jordan Richards, Stanford, S
Deterrian Shackelford, Ole Miss, LB
Leonard Williams, USC, DT
