Nick Saban has another reason to be proud of his quarterback: Mac Jones is all business.

When asked about the Heisman Trophy after Alabama’s 31-14 win over Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl, Jones gave a Saban-like answer.

“That’s a rat-poison question,” Jones told reporters.

The redshirt junior was 25-of-30 passing for 297 yards and 4 touchdowns. Three of those TD passes went to fellow Heisman finalist DeVonta Smith.

The senior wideout said he is more concerned about the national championship game on Jan. 11.

“Get in and get out,” Smith told members of the media when asked about his plans for Tuesday. “I’m not trying to have too many people around. Just trying to make it to the next game.”

While the two had impressive outings Friday, voting for the trophy ended on the Monday following conference championship game weekend.

ESPN will air the Heisman Trophy award ceremony on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET. The show will originate from ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., studios for the first time with all four finalists – Alabama quarterback Mac Jones, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith and Florida quarterback Kyle Trask – appearing via satellite from either their homes or schools. In addition, Heisman Trophy winners from past years will appear virtually.
