Bama-on-Bama Crime between Trevon Diggs, Mac Jones highlights wild finish of Cowboys-Patriots game
Three lead changes in a span of 4 minutes saw a pair of former Alabama players figure prominently in the wild finish of the Dallas Cowboys game against the New England Patriots.
Trevon Diggs first made his NFL-leading seventh interception of the season, and has an interception in all 6 games this year. That’s tied for the longest streak to begin a season in NFL history.
His 7 picks are the most in a full season by a Cowboys player since Everson Walls had 9 in 1985.
Diggs did it with 2:27 remaining in the game against former Alabama teammate Mac Jones, and returned the pick 42 yards for a touchdown. Not to be outdone on the ensuing drive, Jones found Kendrick Bourne for an incredible answer on a pass that went for a 75-yard touchdown.
The interception return also came after Cowboys kicker Greg Zuerlein missed a 51-yard field goal attempt.
The @DallasCowboys have the lead thanks to @TrevonDiggs.
