Big Noon Kickoff was divided on whether Alabama or Texas should get a College Football Playoff spot.

Matt Leinart argued that Texas deserves to get in over the Crimson Tide. The win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa was enough for Leinart to favor the Longhorns.

“Let’s take a look at these resumes. Both teams have the same record against Top 25 opponents,” said Leinart. “Texas has struggled with injuries with Quinn Ewers out and still found ways to win. They just dropped a 50-burger on Texas Tech last night to make a statement. What happened in Tuscaloosa earlier this year? Let’s not act like Texas at 12-1 is a slouch, it’s not even a debate.”

Mark Ingram went with his alma mater, as one would expect. Ingram brought up how Alabama’s strength of schedule, points per game differential, and scoring offense was better than Texas’.

The path for Alabama to the playoff involves beating Auburn and then Georgia in the SEC title game.

“Listen Roll Tide Nation, we the real deal Holyfield. We beat Auburn in the Iron Bowl. We go on the road and beat Georgia, the best team in college football, the back-to-back defending national champion, and we are in,” said Ingram. “The SEC champion has never been left out. We have a better strength of schedule, points per game differential, and scoring offense than Texas. It don’t matter what they did in Week 2, cause we’re a different football team right now.”

The committee will have a tough choice to make between the Crimson Tide and Longhorns.
