Bill Belichick was not in the mood to go into detail about Mac Jones’ injury from Sunday, which is known to a high ankle sprain.

Multiple NFL insiders have described it as a severe injury, but on Wednesday with reporters, Belichick was asked for more detail.

Does Jones have a high ankle sprain?

“Day by day,” the New England Patriots coach said. “What do I look like, a doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, I don’t know. Talk to the medical experts.”

Belichick was then asked what the medical experts on staff say, and he replied, “day by day.”

“We’ll evaluate him — what difference does it make to me, do you think I’m going to read the MRI,” he said. “That’s not my job, so — It’s day by day. Getting better, day by day. See how it is tomorrow. It’s a lot better than it was yesterday.”

Here’s a look at the injury before Jones was reportedly “screaming in pain” as he went off the field.
