One of the members of the real national championship team was asked about the other “championship team” at the NFL Combine. During his Thursday media appearance at the pre-draft event, Bo Scarbrough was asked to share his opinion on UCF calling itself national champions despite not competing in the College Football Playoff.

While many have mocked the Knights for their accomplishments and mythical title, which included a win over SEC West champion Auburn, Scarbrough took the high road and honored what UCF achieved on the field in 2017.

“Congratulations to them on whatever they think. I’m proud of them. They had an undefeated season, they were the only team to go undefeated,” Scarbrough said when asked about UCF in a YouTube video posted by Alabama Crimson Tide on AL.com.

The former Alabama running back went a step further and said UCF should have been given a shot to show what it could do in the College Football Playoff.

“I think they should have got an opportunity in the Playoff because they didn’t lose a game… It is what it is. They had no control over it,” Scarbrough continued.

That’s an interesting remark, considering if UCF had gotten in the Playoff, that likely would have meant Alabama did not make it as the Tide were the only team in the field that did not win their conference title. However, based on his next answer, it’s clear how Scarbrough would have favored in a game between Alabama and UCF.

When asked who would have won the matchup between the two teams, Scarbrough didn’t hesitate to answer.

“I’m very confident in my team, I would say Alabama would have won,” he replied.
