Brandon Miller continues to break new ground during his freshman season at Alabama.

Miller was 1 of 4 freshmen named to the midseason watch list for the Oscar Robertson Trophy on Thursday afternoon. Miller is joined by fellow freshmen Gradey Dick (Kansas), Kyle Filipowski (Kansas) and Keyonte George (Baylor). A total of 50 players were named to the watch list.

Miller is a big reason why Alabama is one of the top teams in the country this season. He has led the Crimson Tide with 20.1 points per contest to start the year.

He’s a major miss-match for opposing defenses. At 6-foot-9, Miller is one of the top shooters in the country. He’s hitting 46.2% of his 3-point attempts to start this season on a volume of 7.2 tries per game. He’s also an excellent defensive player.

That combination of size, skill and shooting ability has Miller as one of the top prospects in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Alabama is 16-2 on the season and is the No. 4 team in the country, per KenPom’s latest rankings.

The Oscar Robertson Trophy, voted on by the USBWA, has been awarded to the nation’s best player since 1958-59.
