With more than 24 hours away before the Heisman Trophy ceremony being held, top go-getter Bryce Young of Alabama reflects on the SEC Championship game and Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud.

During his Heisman press conference on Friday, Young talked about why the win over Georgia was so important to him and his teammates.

“It was a need-to-win situation for us.” Had Alabama lost to Georgia, the Crimson Tide would have been eliminated from the College Football Playoff.

Young also talked about Stroud and how he wasn’t sought after in high school as he was at least in the beginning but that changed.

“It was new to everyone else (when he developed, received offers), but it was nothing new to me.” Young continues to say that he knew before the offers started coming in that Stroud was the real deal.
