Alabama quarterback Bryce Young has won the 2021 Davey O’Brien Award, it was announced during the ESPN College Football Awards on Thursday.

Young is the 2nd straight Tide quarterback to win the award, joining Mac Jones, last year’s winner and the first Alabama QB to take the award home.

The Heisman Trophy finalist has thrown for 4,322 yards as a sophomore, totaling 43 touchdowns and just 4 interceptions. He is coming off a stellar performance during the SEC Championship, going 26-of-44 for 421 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Young will hope that his 2021 campaign ends with the Crimson Tide’s 2nd straight national championship as they face Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 31. Before that, he’ll have a shot at winning the sport’s most prestigious award on Saturday evening.
