Da’Shawn Hand is still waiting to hear whether or not he will be suspended for the season opening game against Florida State on Sept. 2nd, but Thursday’s first practice saw him taking reps with the rest of the defensive linemen.

Hand was arrested for a DUI this past Saturday morning at 4:30 am while asleep in a parked — but cranked — vehicle near Alabama’s campus. His pre-trial hearing isn’t until Sept. 18th, which might be why there hasn’t been any indication whether he will be suspended or not.

It’s not clear whether or not him participating in the first practice of fall camp means much at this point, but it could be a good sign for the former 5-star prospect. Especially when you consider that former OT Cam Robinson and current S Hootie Jones weren’t suspended following their arrest back in May of 2016.
