Nick Saban has received plenty of compliments about his ability to change, and not be set in his ways because it’s how he’s always done it.

Particularly on offense, Saban in recent years has enjoyed success because he has opened up the playbook, and been more aggressive, especially since Lane Kiffin took over as offensive coordinator. It has continued with Steve Sarkisian and now Bill O’Brien.

FOX Sports radio host Colin Cowherd has picked up on the evolving nature of Saban. Cowherd noted how Bryce Young came from California, and his most recent assistant hires were from the NFL. Cowherd figured that most college football dynasties, from Texas, to Southern Cal, to Florida, last about 6 years. Saban’s is in his 14th year of the dynasty, according to Cowherd.

“Nick Saban is loyal to one thing, getting it right, he doesn’t care about being right,” Cowherd said. “He constantly evolves and adapts… There’s a reason he’s at the top of the sport. Curious guys always look to upgrade.”
