College football fans flock to social media to say Alabama should have had TCU's spot in Playoff
Despite Nick Saban lobbying for his team prior to the College Football Playoff selection show last month, Alabama was left out of the final 4.
After a rough first half for TCU in Monday night’s CFP title game against Georgia, many fans wondered if Alabama would have been a better opponent for the Bulldogs.
As you can see below, college football fans flocked to Twitter to say Alabama would have fared better against the Dawgs than the Horned Frogs:
Alabama is the only team that could beat Georgia in this National Championship game… Argue with a brick wall…??♂️

Should of been Alabama vs Georgia if we're being real with ourselves

SEC supremacy. Everyone knows Georgia Alabama would’ve been the only competitive CFP championship

Man, it would be way more fun to watch Alabama play Georgia tonight.

Alabama is the ONLY team in college football that can stop Georgia #CFBPlayoff #NationalChampionship #Rolltide

Alabama should be in this game. They’re the only team capable of taking down Georgia. Sorry, not sorry. Save all your “they shouldn’t have lost” bullshit. What Bama did to K-State is how good the Tide are. #TCUvsUGA

Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and LSU all would’ve beaten the brakes off TCU. Expand the playoff

Alabama or Tennessee would destroy TCU just like Georgia is. The SEC rules championship games. Give ‘em hell dawgs.

Georgia didn’t have to face Alabama at all in 2022, so we can’t know for sure how a game between the 2 SEC powers would have gone this season.
But it does seem clear that the Crimson Tide would provide more of a challenge to the Dawgs than the Horned Frogs.
