Break's over: Crimson Tide set to get back to work for playoffs
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — After taking roughly 10 days off to recuperate and take final exams, the University of Alabama football team will return to practice on Tuesday afternoon.
The Crimson Tide will work at its own facilities for a week, break for the holidays, and then reconvene in New Orleans on Dec. 26. It’ll then practice another full week at the host site.
No. 1 Alabama will face Ohio State in a national semifinal in the Sugar Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Jan. 1 (7:30 p.m., ESPN). The winner will advance to the national championship game at A&T Stadium in Irving, Texas, against the winner of Oregon vs. Florida State, on Jan. 12.
ESPN reported on Monday that the officiating crews will be from the Pac-12 for the Sugar Bowl, and SEC for the Rose Bowl, with the Big 12 handling the title game.
Alabama was last on the field Dec. 6, when it defeated Missouri in the SEC Championship Game, 42-13.
