DeVonta Smith, Jalen Hurts hook up for wild one-handed TD grab for Eagles
DeVonta Smith and Jalen Hurts, a pair of former Alabama stars, connected for an insane touchdown in the 4th quarter of the Philadelphia Eagles game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
About halfway through the 4th quarter, Hurts threw a pass to the back of the endzone, and Smith snagged it with 1 hand and somehow got both feet down in bounds to secure the score.

The score put the Eagles up 28-16. The team attempted a 2-point conversion to make it a 14-point game, but the try was unsuccessful.
The Jaguars responded with a score of their own to make it a 28-23 game. With around 2 minutes to go in the game, the Eagles were maintaining that 5-point lead. With a win in Week 9, the Eagles would improve to 6–2 on the season while the Jaguars would fall to 2-7.
At the 2-minute mark in the 4th quarter, Smith had 4 catches for 87 yards and 1 TD in this contest.
Smith entered the NFL after being selected in the 1st round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The speedy WR spent 4 seasons in Tuscaloosa, winning 2 National Championships and the 2020 Heisman Trophy. During his time at Alabama, Smith caught 235 passes for 3,965 yards and 46 TDs.
Heading into Week 9, Smith had 31 catches for 386 yards and 3 TDs on the season. The WR leads the Eagles in receptions and is 2nd in yards to only A.J. Brown. Smith’s best season as a pro to this point has been 2022.
In 2022, Smith caught 95 passes for 1,196 yards and 7 TDs. The Alabama product has twice surpassed the 1,000 receiving yards mark in his young career.
