ESPN analyst David Pollack shares the CFP matchup he wants to see
ESPN analyst David Pollack went to and played his college football at Georgia, so one might expect he would pick the Bulldogs as a team he wants to see in the College Football Playoff.
Instead, he made a bit of surprise pick.
He wants to see the University of Central Florida in the final four come late December. Keep in mind the key word is “want,” not should be or will be, but simply preference of who might be an interesting team to see there in Pollack’s mind.
His reasoning seems sound enough as he tells UCF to “step in the ring” if they want a shot at the title. Of course in the Knights’ minds, they already did that last season with an undefeated season and crowning themselves as the national champion.
“The defending national champion against the real national champion, I mean how awesome would that be?” he asks.
UCF is well on their way at 4-0 with wins over Florida Atlantic, Connecticut, SC State and Pittsburgh. One of their biggest tests will come in eight days when they have to play an offensive powerhouse in Memphis and Mike Norvell.
Alabama still has a tough road ahead as well with LSU and the Iron Bowl looming in November. For now, Pollack’s dream remains alive.
